Multi-Company Dashboard

Written by Russ Mullender

A consolidated performance view across all companies in your portfolio — showing total AR, overdue balances, DSO, and collection efficiency for each entity side by side.

Overview

The Multi-Company Dashboard loads every company in your portfolio into a single comparison table so you can assess receivables health across entities without switching between individual company accounts. Metric summary cards at the top show portfolio-level totals when a single currency is selected. The Company Performance Comparison table lists every company with key AR metrics in the Latest view, or trend indicators for 7, 30, 60, and 90-day periods. Use the search bar, company multi-select, and currency filter to narrow the table. Click any company name to open its full Company Detail page.

Note: Metric summary cards are only visible when a single currency is selected. When All Currencies is selected, a yellow warning banner replaces the cards to prevent misleading cross-currency aggregations.

User Guide

Getting Started

Navigate to Analytics & Reporting > Multi-Company Dashboard. The page loads automatically with all companies. Access requires the "View Multi-Company Dashboard" permission in your role — contact your system administrator if you do not see it in the menu.

How do I view aggregated totals across the portfolio?

  1. Click the Currency filter dropdown in the top-right of the page header.

  2. Select a specific currency (e.g. GBP) from the list.

  3. The yellow multi-currency banner disappears and four metric cards appear.

Note: Metric cards are hidden when All Currencies is selected because summing amounts in different currencies would produce a meaningless total. You must select a single currency to see portfolio aggregates.

How do I compare companies side by side in Latest view?

  1. Ensure the View Mode dropdown shows Latest.

  2. The table shows Total AR, Overdue, Overdue %, DSO, CEI, and Avg Days to Pay for each company.

  3. Click any column header to sort the table by that metric.

Tip: Sort by Overdue % descending to immediately see which company has the highest proportion of overdue receivables.

  4. Click a company name to open its full Company Detail page.

How do I see whether a company's metrics are improving or worsening?

  1. Click the View Mode dropdown in the table toolbar.

  2. Select a trend period — 7 Days, 30 Days, 60 Days, or 90 Days.

  3. The table switches to show AR Trend, Overdue Trend, DSO Trend, CEI Trend, and Payment Speed for the selected period.

Note: Trend data is based on historical snapshots. If a company was added recently, trend columns may show -- until sufficient history has been captured.

  4. Sort the Overdue Trend column descending to surface the companies with the fastest-growing overdue balances.

How do I filter the table to specific companies?

  1. Type a company name in the Search bar to filter by name in real time.

  2. Use the Filter by companies dropdown to select one or more specific companies to compare.

Tip: Combine the company multi-select with a currency filter to compare only the USD-invoiced subsidiaries.

  3. To clear company selection, open the dropdown and deselect all companies, or clear the search bar.

How do I navigate to the most at-risk company quickly?

  1. Select a specific currency using the Currency filter to make the metric cards appear.

  2. Locate the Most At-Risk Company card, which shows the company name and its Overdue %.

  3. Click the View Details button on the card to navigate directly to that company's detail page.

How do I export the company performance data?

  1. Apply any search or company filters to be reflected in the export.

  2. Click the spreadsheet icon (Export button) at the right end of the table toolbar.

  3. Select Export Current View from the dropdown.

  4. The file downloads as company-performance-YYYY-MM-DD.csv.

Note: The export includes all filtered rows (not just the current page) and both Latest and trend data columns, regardless of which View Mode is currently displayed. Tip: Apply the company multi-select filter before exporting to produce a targeted report for a specific subset of entities.

Pro Tips

  • Switch to 30-day trend view and sort Overdue Trend descending at the start of each month to identify which subsidiaries need a priority review before the month-end close.

  • Use the CEI column in Latest view as your primary performance indicator — a CEI below 75% for any company suggests collection activity is not keeping pace with new invoicing.

  • Select a single currency before exporting so the metric card totals match the figures in your CSV.

FAQ

Why are the metric cards not showing? The metric cards only appear when you select a specific currency. When All Currencies is selected, the cards are replaced by a warning banner because summing different currencies produces a meaningless total.

What does DSO mean? Days Sales Outstanding — the average number of days it takes customers of a company to pay their invoices. A lower number means customers are paying faster. Colour coding: green below 45 days, orange 45-59 days, red 60+ days.

What does CEI mean? Collections Effectiveness Index — a percentage measuring how much of the collectable receivables were actually collected in the period. Colour coding: green 90%+, orange 75-89%, red below 75%.

What does the Payment Speed badge in trend view mean? It compares the average days to pay in the selected trend period against the previous equivalent period. Improving = customers paying faster. Stable = no significant change. Declining = customers taking longer to pay.

Why does a trend column show a dash (--) for some companies? Insufficient historical data for that company over the selected period, typically for recently onboarded companies.

Can I filter by multiple currencies at once? No — the Currency filter is a single-select control. To compare companies across two currencies, use All Currencies and rely on the table rows to compare individual company figures.

How do I get access to the Multi-Company Dashboard if I cannot see it in the menu? Access requires the "View Multi-Company Dashboard" permission in your user role. Contact your system administrator to have this permission added to your role.
