My Tasks

Written by Russ Mullender

Your personal action list of every collection activity assigned to you — follow-up calls, overdue cases, promises due today, and disputes awaiting a response.

Overview

My Tasks aggregates all task types in one list so you always know what requires your attention. Tasks arrive here automatically from collection strategies, promise due dates, and dispute escalations, as well as tasks created manually by you or a manager. Use the quick filters to focus by urgency, the advanced filters to narrow by type or priority, and the search bar to locate a specific customer or task. Click any row to open the task detail and take action.

User Guide

Getting Started

Select My Tasks from the left navigation. The page loads with the My Tasks quick filter already active, so you see only tasks assigned to you. No prerequisite setup is needed — tasks are created automatically by collection strategies and promise due dates.

How do I see only my tasks?

  1. The My Tasks badge is active by default when the page loads — your personal tasks are shown immediately.

Tip: Click the My Tasks badge a second time to deactivate it and see tasks across the whole team.

How do I filter tasks by urgency?

  1. Click the Overdue badge to see tasks whose due date has already passed.

  2. Click the Due Today badge to see tasks due by end of today.

  3. Click the Due This Week badge to see tasks due in the next 7 days.

Note: Multiple quick filter badges can be active at the same time. The list shows tasks matching any active badge — not only those matching all of them.

  4. Click an active badge again to deactivate it and remove it from the filter.

How do I filter by task type or priority?

  1. Locate the Advanced Filters panel directly below the quick filter bar.

  2. Click the Task Type dropdown and select one or more categories — Collections, Promises, Disputes, Receipts, or Task.

Tip: Select "Promises" and activate the Due Today badge at the same time to get a focused call list of customers who committed to pay today.

  3. Click the Priority dropdown and select one or more levels.

  4. The list updates immediately with each selection.

How do I open a task and take action?

  1. Click on any task row in the list.

  2. The task detail drawer opens on the right side of the screen.

  3. Review the task title, type, linked customer, due date, and any notes.

  4. For task types Promise to Pay, Dispute, and Collection Case, the drawer is view-only. Click the View & Edit button at the bottom to navigate to the relevant module.

Note: The View & Edit button is available for Promise to Pay, Dispute, and Collection Case task types only. Tasks of type Task can be managed directly within the drawer.

  5. For tasks of type Task, you can manage the task directly in the drawer.

  6. Click Mark as Complete to move the task to the Completed group.

How do I create a manual task?

  1. Click the Create Task button in the Advanced Filters panel.

  2. The Create Task drawer opens.

  3. Type a title that describes the action required.

  4. Optionally add a description with more detail.

  5. Select the due date using the date picker.

  6. Select the user to assign the task to.

Note: Only active users with access to the current company are shown in the assignee list.

  7. Optionally type the first few characters of a customer name in the Customer field to link the task to an account.

  8. Click Save. The task appears in the Open Tasks group immediately.

Tip: Manual tasks created here appear in the assigned user's My Tasks list as soon as you save them.

How do I refresh the task list?

  1. Click the Refresh button in the top-right corner of the page header.

Note: Collection strategies can generate new tasks throughout the day, not just overnight. If a colleague tells you a task has been assigned to you and you cannot see it, click Refresh.

Pro Tips

  • Start each morning by activating both the My Tasks and Overdue badges. This shows only your personal tasks that are already late — action these before moving to anything else.

  • Combine the Task Type = "Promises" filter with the Due Today badge to build a focused morning call list. Calling promise customers before 11 AM gives you time to escalate unpaid promises before end of business.

  • After completing a block of tasks, click Refresh to pick up any new tasks assigned to you since you loaded the page — strategies run continuously.

  • On Fridays, switch to Due This Week to preview next week's pipeline. If one day looks very heavy, create manual tasks now to distribute work more evenly across the team.

FAQ

How do I know where a task came from? Each task row shows a Type badge and a source reference. Open the task detail to see the linked collection case, promise, or dispute record.

Why do I have no tasks even though I manage overdue accounts? Tasks are generated by collection strategies, not created automatically for every overdue account. Try: Click Clear Filters to remove all filters, check whether the accounts appear in the Collections Queue instead, and confirm with your administrator whether a collection strategy is active for those account segments.

What does the Priority badge on each task mean? Critical = very high-value account or escalated case, action today. High = overdue task or significant balance. Medium = within terms, action within a few days. Low = general follow-up with no immediate urgency.

Can I assign a task to a colleague instead of myself? Yes. When creating a manual task, select any active user from the Assigned To dropdown. For system-generated tasks, open the task detail and update the Assigned To field to reassign it.

Can I complete multiple tasks at once? No. Bulk task completion is not currently available. Each task must be opened individually and marked as complete from the task detail drawer.

What does completing a task do to the collection case? Marking a task as complete changes only the status of that task. The linked collection case remains open and will continue to generate new tasks according to its strategy.

How do I find all tasks for a specific customer? Type the first few characters of the customer name in the Search field. The list filters in real time to show only tasks linked to that customer.

How do I see all tasks for my team, not just mine? Click the My Tasks badge to deactivate it. The list then shows tasks assigned to all users. You can type a colleague's name in the Search field to focus on their tasks specifically.

Can I delete a task I created by mistake? Manual tasks can be deleted from the task detail drawer. System-generated tasks cannot be deleted directly — they are closed automatically when the underlying record is resolved or the task is marked complete.
